two objects without outline are shown as different

hello,

when I open an object without outline (just 1 object, a line as a fill without any outline) from an AI file and open another CorelDraw document with a similar object and choose both, then CorelDraw says in the status bar that the outlines are different/multiple. But there is not outline in both cases :) and when I choose them one by one, it's correctly shown as such in the status bar.

I don't really care about this but wonder whether this could be just the sign of a real problem when continue working with those?

thank you

(the file has no color profiles embedded because it is too large to upload then, but the issue is also there when profiles embedded)

  • you cannot have a hidden CMYK outline nor a hidden RGB outline. Once you have an object is has to have a fill or an outline.

    Yes you can.

Create two objects and give them differently colored outlines (CMYK and RGB for example).
Remove the outlines by clicking the "no outline" swatch in any palette.
Select both objects and you will find that the Status Bar says "Several outlines".

Give both of them an outline width and check each of them, and you will find that they are in fact different.

Draw keeps the outline information even though an object no longer has a visible outline, also for objects created inside Draw.

asterixx: The "easiest" way to make sure all objects get the same color model is probably to select all, add a specific outline color/color model, and then remove the outline again.
Unfortunately this will also affect objects that should have an outline so it isn't the perfect solution.

Jeff Harrison has a very useful macro at macromonster.com called SelectSame, that makes it easy to select all objects with the same attributes as a selected object.
In short, select an object without outline, check "Outline width" and "Inside groups" in the dialog and click "Select all Similar".
Add outline to all selected objects and then remove it.
