Hello all,
I am brand new to Coreldraw 2024. I used X7 ever since it came out. I have now switched from a PC to a Macbook Pro and downloaded the newest version and I cannot seem to customize my toolbars anywhere near the level I used to be able to and cannot find any information on how to do so. So, I saved the workspace file from my old version and I am trying to import it into the new suite but none of the instructions seems to cover the fact that the new version has no Tools tab and almost everything I want to do, was tied to that tab.
Can anyone direct me on how to import my workspace into the 2024 suite?
Thank you for your time.
Haven't tried the Mac version but from what I've heard it hasn't got nowhere near the same customization capabilities as the Windows version. And even if it did, I doubt you could import a workspace from X7.It is normally not recommended to import a workspace from older versions due to conflicts with new features and tools.Best advise is probably to manually customize the parts that you really need (and the Mac version will allow) and learn to live and work with the rest as it is.
Well, that's the problem. The new version absolutely sucks for workspace customization as far as I can tell. It doesn't let you do any of the useful things the older version did. Both bars are virtually useless for what I do. I might use 10% of what they offer for customization. I can't add anything to the side bar and the top bar customization is trash. I've searched every forum I can think of and the "manual" for 2024 and they are zero help. I used to be able to move items wherever I wanted and I could even color the buttons for super fast recognition. I haven't been able to find any of those options in the new version. I'm so slow now. Why they take away useful options and hand you garbage in return is astonishing. Or if any of those things are still an option, they sure are not upfront about letting you know how to do it.
I don't believe that it's the new version, I believe it's the Mac version.
David is right, the Mac version isn't fully developed yet when it comes to customization. The Windows version still works like it used to do, with one exception: They removed the ability to draw/color icons inside Draw many versions ago. You can however still import icons if you like.
I was following the Mac customization when the 2019 cycle was happening and it may be that some of the customization allowed by Windows may not be possible at all in Apple systems.
