Painterly 'furry' brush question

I've done a huge upgrade from CorelDraw X7 Home & Student to Graphics Suite 2024  and am exploring the painterly brushes. How do I make fur go up rather than down?  I've tried various lines and shapes, rotating, skewing... no luck.  If I convert a line to a bitmap, I can then rotate it to get upward facing fur but that seems inefficient if you are creating an animal.  I've skimmed through some tutorials but haven't found one that uses the 'furry' brush or how to change the angle.  Maybe this is a dumb question and I just don't understand Painterly tools? TY in advance!

  • Well, I've done some more exploring and discovered something called 'flare' which actually looks like fur and can make produce a fur effect going up and down at the same time so I might be able to make that work for what I want to do.
