Object-group Isolation Feature request

Why hasn't Corel introduced an isolation mode when selecting grouped objects? At times I want to edit multiple objects in a group and I don't want to ungroup. This is where this feature comes into play by simply double clicking onto the group I will be able to isolate it and do my edits.

Corel has already beautifully implemented this feature on powerclip editing. Please extend same functionality to grouped objects.

  • I am so glad that this has now become a reality in CorelDRAW 24.5.0.686! They call it Focus Group. With this, you can even isolate a single object, make some edits on it or even draw, import artwork and when you exit the isolation mode you will notice that a group has been created! It's also now easier to isolate and edit artwork which has effects. WOW!

CorelDRAW feeling more and more like Adobe Illustrator now. Check these features which are similar to Illustrator's:

    • Multipage View
    • Variable Outline
    • Object Spacing
    • Properties Effects tab (Illustrator's Appearance)
    • Ability to directly select and delete path (curve) segments
    • Ability to directly select and copy path (curve) segments
    • Ability to select and edit clipped artwork without entering into the PowerClip
    • etc…

Corel has come a long way. I am suggesting that Corel should also be working on ways to improve or introduce the following features:

    • Object/Image Linking (fundamental)
    • The ability to select by Control+Shift+clicking on multiple objects from different groups, PowerClips etc... (efficiency)
    • Click+drag image from Explorer into CorelDRAW should retain name of the image and not assign a generic name (Bitmap). This will also help quickly identify objects when using the Object panel (neat)
    • Introduce layer opacity (efficiency, stability + control)
    • Introduce Layer Effects, Blend Modes etc... (efficiency)
    • Introduce a Select Menu (Find and Replace is chaotic as it is) (efficiency & reliability)
    • Ability to scroll in numeric fields using the mouse or the Up/Down Arrow keys (efficiency + convenience)
    • Live feedback when mouse cursor hovers over a blend mode in the blend mode dropdown menu (Photopaint already does this)
    • Ability to use the Up/Down Arrow keys in the in the blend mode dropdown menu
    • Ability to create a group from a single object
    • Knockout effects on artwork with dropshadows and groups with transparency (Lens)

Most modern graphic design software has already incorporated most of the above.
