Corel draw file opening

I’m going be putting Corel draw X4 or X6 back on my computer 

but my friend who has done files some posters and text on A4 paperwork 

but he has used Corel draw 10 

can Corel draw x4 or x6 open the Corel draw 10 files ok so no issues as need to be able to open the Corel draw 10 files

    Wrong answer. X5 and X7 can open files all the way back to v6. I don't expect x4 to be any different. As you know David, I have a strong vested interest in being able to open legacy files dating back to v3 and I have tested all this over the years.

    In another thread I have reported that 2018 (v20) can successfully open v7 files, It should open v6 files but because I never had that version i don't have any v6 files to test. I do have v3 and v5 and they WILL NOT open with any version past X5. I keep X5 installed purely for this reason. It doesn't work well under Win11 (menus are unreadably pale) but it does work such that you can open a file and re-save it as an X5.
