Editing from CorelDraw How do I correct masking - editing again doesn't help

When I edit a bitmap to apply mask in PhotoPaint, then when I spot that something wasn't cleared and I want to edit it again, I can't add it by adding red mask. In fact I can't apply any mask changes again to correct the mask.

What do I do?

  • Hi Milosh,

if you send a bitmap to PP, add a mask and then save the changes back to Draw, you do lose further editing of that mask. As you found out, re-sending the bitmap to PP gives you an image with maybe missing parts and no way to recover them, for example. This means you need to adjust your workflow slightly, as follows:

    • In Draw click Edit Bitmap to send the image to PP
    • in PP add your mask and make any desired changes
    • at this stage SAVE the image as a CPT or PSD file to keep the mask!
    • Click the Finish Editing button on the toolbar and say yes to saving the changes in Draw

This then allows you to open the saved image in PP if you discover further changes to the mask and/or image are required. If you do open the saved image and make further changes, save that image to hard drive too before importing into Draw.
