When i click my mouse to draw the cursor moves up and to the left of the position i started which makes any and all editing impossible. Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4. Any suggestions?
Hello mtoklsen; like said above the video driver is the first place I'd look, the secound would be the driver for the mouse. and if it was a Logitech I'd go buy a new mouse.
My Thoughts George
hmm, latest video drivers here. I've tried multiple mice too, mainly use razor mice. even tried different drivers there too.
Thanks
razor mouses are mostly used as gaming mouses. Which mouse do you have from razor.
You can edit settings in the razor itself. Also make sure the lens is clean.
Shot in the dark here. Have you tried changing your mouse pad. Laser mouse units do not like reflective surfaces. Or have you tired one of the older type ball type mouse units.
When you changed the mouse units, did you also change drivers or did windows recognize that the hardware was changed?
I realize these are gaming mice but they are very precise which is why i use them. I have it tweaked just the way i like it. When I changed to a different mouse I always load the drivers/software so i can customize it. What has me stumped is it doesn't do it it in drawx4 only photo-paint x4. Paintshop pro, and Serif draw and Serif paint are all working fine as well.
Jack no mouse pad here just a neutral tan laminate desk top and have never had any problems with tracking, thanks
I, too, have Razor mice on some of my systems. I do not use the Razor drivers, though. (I have hardware dpi & speed switches on the mice). I use the standard Windows drivers, for the mice.
Once, I bought a Microsoft 7-button mouse (Wheel mouse with two extra buttons on the side) and put in the MS drivers for it. It did not work decently on many applications, so I uninstalled the provided drivers and it worked well with everything, except for the two additional buttons, which did nothing without the MS drivers that came with MS mouse.
I have had problems with Logitech mice, using the Logitech drivers, but switching over to the default Windows mouse drivers, I was OK.
Of course, your mileage may vary.

Humor me. Try a different surface under the mouse. A sheet of typing paper, perhaps.
