[UPDATE: ISSUE SOLVED]
----
Hello!
I've been running into an issue with a client of mine who had purchased Corel DRAW Graphic Suite X4 from my company, and has been creating files for laser use. Everything was going along well, until they reached a snag today in trying to erase an ear from a photo that looked a bit more akin to a growth.
With the object selected, visible, and unlocked, their eraser tool is failing to function, giving the "Hey this tool isn't usable, guy" indicator. I had a copy of the file from before they had tried to make their adjustment and couldn't replicate the issue. I've had them reset their software, to no avail, and am at the point where I'm more confused than anything.
If anyone has any ideas it'd be much appreciated!
Thank you!
HELLO LaserProduction; I guess you know that your company sold them a old ver. If you take and crop the ear and post it in the same format they are using we can take a wack at it. ( X4 is a good ver. )

Thanks George!
Yes, I've been aware of the older version, but it seemed that the higher-ups decided to stick with it for ease of use with the systems we work with. Generally seems to be a good version so far but I've yet to get my hands into X5/X6. I'm having my client send their file over tonight to be safe, but will have it posted as soon as I get it.
I've grabbed a few of my IT friends on this one two and they were also notably stumped, so I'm glad there's a knowledgeable and willing community here!
One other thing if the setting is to high it will take a whole lot of clicks to show anything.
Everything except Nib Size was set at 0 on that bar according to my client. Thanks!
There are some functions in X4 photopaint that don't work in certain image modes.
I don't think the eraser is one of them, but if the image is greyscale or black and white it may be worth temporarily promoting the image to RGB to try again. If it does the job, then you can revert to the previous mode afterwards.
If that doesn't do it, perhaps you could try drawing a freehand mask around the ear and pressing delete.
