I've just started using X4 for the first time and what I'm trying to do is add text to the last frame of a gif. I got the text in and see where the colour changing tools are but for some reason even if I made everything red, the text colour still comes out completely different. It seems to be matching it to the colour scheme of the GIF itself. I just want to text to be red.
I've attached a picture of what the text looks like in the gif. That colour is what comes out no matter how many times I change everything to red.
How do I get the text colour to just stay red?

I will guess that it is a palleted gif, which means that when the gif was originally created a limited set of colours were chosen and, therefore, you are being limited to the colours currently in palette.
The solution is probably to change the colour mode to RGB before you add the red text. RGB will create a larger gif, so if file size is important you may then want to change it back to palletted before the final save.
Ah yes that did the trick. Thanks for the quick reply!
