Im sure there must be something im missing here with the PNG export settings. I like the way the new export window appears but I cant figure out how to export from Draw to a PNG with a transparent matte of a color picked color.
How I did it in X4 was to chose to export to PNG, and when the window appeared to select a color for the transparent area, a color picker was used. Whatever I do with X5, i cant do it :/
Ive checked out the help files but I still cant figure it out... but im sure its something im not doing correctly.
Hi Hunter,
Thanks for the reply. I will have another go at doing it the way you suggested. :)
I just got X5 this morning, but I was happy to find that opening a PNG saved with transparency from Fireworks in Photopaint X5, I'm able to resave and the transparency holds. This never worked for me in X4 or previous Photopaint for me.
I had to check into this myself....I think this is what you are after.....note that in X5 you can mark a few colors, which merges all the colors into a single, tranparent color.

If you are exporting a transparent image inside photoshop, and you get those faint annoying white outlines when you import your images into flash, here is how to get rid of them:1. Make sure your image has a transparent background (white and gray checkered background)2. Go to "help" on the top menu bar--then select "exporting a transparent image". After you do this, then another box will pop up. It will then trace your image (like what happens in Corel.) Then select GIF or PNG--the difference in these are the support from old and new browsers. For safe use for older browsers-select GIF. If your audience are people who predominately use newer browse, then select PNG if you wish. Then, follow the steps it gives you, and name your file what you want it to be, and VIOLA! you destroyed the evil white lines.
