Typing #i and cycling back to the pick tool causes repeatable crash on 64bit system.
Any ideas for a solution?

I can verify that it crashes on windows 7 32 bit also.
Typing two hyphens followed by a space has some weird behaviour too (in UK English).
It doesn't crash, but instead of converting the two hyphens to a dash, it inserts a dash before them and leaves the hyphens as well, with the cursor positioned between them :
That's not so awkward as a crash, but still wrong.
