EDIT: The font is Galliard.
So I'm cruising along through my layouts when something funny happens. Galliard BT Italic doesn't look right.
But then if I ad a hair line, it does.
Get's even stranger. It looks wrong on a screen cap of what I was doing.
But correct on an export!
Is it just with this font?

As far as I can tell. I might grab the beer first...
If reinstalling the font doesn't cure it, the font itself may be corrupt. See if you can find another version. Especially if it was originally a free font - I've had much trouble with those over the years. They tend to be poorly coded and either go bad, or just quit working correctly; often after a Windows update.
Good luck.

I doubt the font is the problem in this case.
Can you send me your cdr file and your fonts (send my an email through my profile.). I can test this out over here.

Hi,
I had already discussed about the similar problem of on screen font style visibility with no solution - http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/36982.aspx
The removal and reinstalling of fonts had no use.
If we outline the fonts or convert to curves it appears OK, otherwise seems bleak.
Font : Souvenir Lt BT - Bold; Bookman Old Style - Bold
I still hope for a solution.
Thanks,
with regards,Anil.

I just sent you a link to a dropbox zip file.
Thanks.
Works fine in Windows 8 64 bit home premium with all updates for Windows and CorelDRAW
It works fine here as well. I suspect that there are some form of font conflict on your system. I need to know what is the font that is substituted instead of galliard.
I'm not sure that this is going to work but try enabling this registry key on your system (Close CorelDRAW first) :
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\16.0\Draw\Application Preferences\TextTool]
"BBoxDecorator"="1"
Don't forget to turn it off after you are done with it.
