Every since I updated CDx6, Photo-Paint no longer allows for drawing or erasing in a straight line by clicking, pressing the alt key and clicking again. Instead a scale comes up that changes the brush opacity...What happened? I can't figure out what happened. See attached file. The red arrow indicates what comes up when alt is pressed. Any ideas?
Hello Idegraff; I think it would be better to post the file that is in question.

I believe the modifier key(s) for this effect was changed to Shift+Alt with one of the service packs. Using the Alt key now allows you to change the brush transparency on the fly. There was another thread here regarding this, but I cannot find it now. I'll post a link if I can locate it.

Actually, that thread I mentioned in my previous was actually from the CDUG mailing list. It was posted by Corel employee, Tony Severenuk.
...Alt used to do a straight line.....given that people were adjusting transparency more than drawing straight lines we hooked a new control up to that will adjust transparency. Straight lines can be done with <shift>+<alt> T. --------------------------------
It looks like it should be the control key.
The CTRL key constrains the brushstroke to a straight line as you paint with a brush, horizontally or vertically. Using Shift+Alt connects the dots, so to speak, by shooting out a straight line between clicks -- any angle.
When "the powers that be changed this," they neglected to change the Status bar info and the Helpful Hints. Nothing in Help at all about the modifiers for this. That's just careless oversight, IMHO.
