Hello,
could you please tell me how to write vertical text in a table?
There may be a way to put rotated text directly into a table, but its not something I've come across.
One way you could do it is to compose each element outside the table, rotate it and drag it on top of a table cell. The text isn't really in the table that way, just sitting on top, so you'll need to adjust it if you change the table or cell size.
Another answer is to create the table in excel. You can copy the table cells to clipboard and paste them into CorelDraw as an object. You then have the facilities and limitations of excel. Double clicking on the object will re-open it in excel for editing if needed.
i have created my table in Word 2013, but when i paste it into Corel Draw it doesn't show the vertical text correctly.
I also have images inserted in some cells, and they lose the correct alignment, relative to the said cell.
what am I doing wrong?
I'm not sure if word imports the same way.
When you import an excel table, it remains as an excel object -- which means that excel continues to control the way the table is displayed and printed. CorelDraw only provides a rectangle for excel to image the content. But I think when you import from word it tries to convert to native CorelDraw objects -- so it can only approximate the result.
A possible alternative is to try saving or exporting just the table from word to PDF, and see if that imports better.
Not sure if this is of any help at all but there are two shortcuts to switch between horizontal and vertical text;Ctrl+, (comma) and Ctrl+. (dot).
ok thank you both :)
Appreciated
