Whoa! What an open question. What I would suggest is to add a little more information, such as the primary usage of your printer and/or what your previous (soon-to-be retired HP) was used for. Also, let us know if you are considering inkjet printer(s) or laser printer(s) or both.
Keep in mind that you will get a lot of replies that reflect the poster's personal preference without too much consideration for what you would use your printer for.

Yes. More information on my part, would be helpful. I want to print my work to sell. I'd like an idea of what is best, regardless of price, for this purpose. I suppose I could put work on disk and take it to a print shop. I don't know. I'm researching options.
Thanks~

And paper size is important ;)
$8000+ can buy an Xante proofing printer, or a Xerox that can do tabloid extra.
I personally use a couple Xerox Phasers the most. One is in the price category above though its base version without the extras is in the mid/upper $6000 category. For legal size down, I am using a Xerox Phaser 6600 DN that I am quite happy with and is in the sub $400 area after discounts. I also use an Epson 4800 Pro, new around the mid 3k area at the time.
And hey, my office use a couple different HP All-in-ones that actually can produce great output onto letter-size photo paper. These are cheap throw-aways. Never had to...they have been kicking out paper for about 6 years or so.
But really, asking what printer regardless of price, paper sizes, what your work is, what you expect from a printer, etc., is like the clients I get that try to ask me how much for design and layout without answering my budget, design goals, how it gets printed, etc., questions.
So take the above personal choices in this light: they met my criteria for what I do and expect from a printer for the work I do.
