Power clip crashing the program since update

Hi all

Since the last update I have found if I copy a powerclip and go to paste it into another file the program crashes.  If I unclip it and then copy it into the next file it works fine, I then just re-clip it and all is good, so a bit annoying.

Also a little disappointed that imported hypalinks are still not editable and the print preview items didn't get fixed ( cutting space, tabbing between pages and bleed always going back to 4mm default )

Thanks in advance if someone can tell me if I am doing this wrong.

Have fun.

  • I've tried a couple of simple powerclips but they are not crashing when pasting. It might be caused by something particular in the powerclip though.

Do you have an example which consistently crashes that you can upload?
    • Hi Harry, thanks for the response, you got me thinking so I have tried some simple ones and no problem, so I tried with an image and spot colours and still no problems, so it must be something complex. I mostly use power clip to capture a file into a die shape and then lay up in a print file, so they are complex. I have created a dropbox to share a file, I think I have converted all fonts so hopefully you will have no issues with it.

      Again thanks for your effort.
      • I just worked something out, if I save it before I copy it it will not crash, so if you copy and paste the file I have put in the drop box it will work fine. I have now put the original file in the drop box, if you pwerclip everything into the yellow frame and copy it, then try to past it it will crash, thanks.

This doing my head in :)
        • What windows version are you using? And is your X4 32 or 64 bit?

I have the file here, and have tried pasting several times (X7.4 64 bit in windows 7 and windows 10 which are the two systems I have live at the moment). No crashes so far.

I presume you are just pasting it into a new, empty file?
          • Hi Harry

            X7.4 64bit in windows 7.

Have you tried my second post?

            Thanks.

              Aha! Downloading it now ...

              • I'm not sure if it is relevant, but now I'm getting a request for a font substitution ...

I found a version of Helvetica Rounded Bold, but its not the same as yours ... and whether or not I allow it to substitute, I'm not getting after I powerclip, copy and paste.
