Two questions/concerns regarding PPX7...I cannot find answers in the online Help.
1. Is there a way to make the workspace background darker? It's almost white (sampled the color and it's R240-G240-B240) It makes it EXTREMELY hard to see. Whether working on photos are starting an image with a white background I want my workspace darker, please. Ideally, I am hoping there is a way I can choose???
2. I have checked the box for Automatic View Resize. If I un-dock the tabbed image/window, I assume the window should resize as I zoom in/out. It's not working. I also cannot manually resize the window. The arrow come up if I hover over the window edge, but it will not let me resize the window.

P.S. I love the new X7 Fill properties!!!! Haven't explored them totally, mind you, but so far I like what I see.

I found that one already. It only changes the toolbars, not the workspace.
About the #2 part of my original post/questions. There is something really wonky going on when resizing windows/undocked tabs. Even the main CDGS X7 window cannot be resized by grabbing edges and corners -- like all other windows in other software. Something to do with the new tabbed interface perhaps? It's new still, but they definitely are not behving like normal Windows windows!
I'll continue playing with it and may make a video to see if anyone else is seeing what I am seeing. been staring at this screen way too long today!

I'm not seeing that problem. Are you sure that the X7 window is the active window and is not maximised ?
One annoyance (I think its windows generally not X7 specific) is a tendency for windows to be in front (or to appear to be in front) yet not actually be the active window. Therefore, you must have an unnecessary click somewhere in the window to make it active before you can actually use the window.
As far as I'm aware, the only way to get the workspace darker is to create a non-printing layer, put a rectangle several times larger than your display area, fill it with a colour of your choice, arrange the layer to the back and lock it.
That's not really an ideal solution and you would think a better answer would be a simple configuration in tools > options or document page setup.
Hi Patti,
See my attached printscreen.
Undock the image. Select, hold and drag the image. It undocks and there you go.I can see this not entirely like you whant it. But its the best we can get right now I guess. I need the darker too
Made a quick video to demo how these new X7 windows are behaving (for me anyway). I undocked the image and then attempted to resize it to fit the space. Mind you, I am overworking it here, just for the demonstration.
I do have the PP application window restored down so I can show how trying to resize it results in some weird screen things. I can resize the windows from the left, but not from the right. Anyone else seeing this?
I also noticed that if I right-click on the title bar there is no context menu for Restore Up/Down, Move, etc. Here's the menu you usually see when clicking on any Windows main title bar. This may be as designed for X7 and may be related to the resizing the windows???
I watched the Video.
Thanks
