I have CorelDraw 11 and I am useing the PhotoPaint in it.
If I open am Image that has a somewhat Black Background I do this.
I use the Lasso Tool and Cut what I want and past it into CorelDraw work Space.
And then I can always Dabble click the image in the CorelDraw workspace and it re opens it in PhotoPaint and I can use the wand Tool to remove anything from the Image I do not want.
And I do have the Tab Display Mask Merquery selected.
But I can always see an Outline of the Parts I remove.
So I would gess I have to set my Father to Zero for my Laso Tool.
But I do not see any Father setting????
I open a photo of a head with an all white background and then use the Sqware Mask Tool to go over the whole photo. Then I Cut it out and past it in CorelDraw Work Space.
Now that the photo of the Head with the white Backgroun is a Mask I Dabble click it and it re opens in Photo paint. Then I use Magic Wand to Select just the white Background and Hit the Delet Key.
Now it works it got rid of all the white Background so I click Save and close photopaint.
And then I am now back at CorelDraw Work Space and my photo of the Head is here with now White Background and this is good it works.
But I see a Dotted outline around whare the White Sqware was.
This never happened and I know it is a Setting I am forgetting to click on?

You can increase the "Tolerance" of the Magic Wand tool, but - you will probably still need to erase manually, the residue from the edges of the mask. Place a black underlying object, as a layer, to see the white that needs to be erased, or just simply make another rectangular mask or crop the image slightly smaller.
I would suggest importing your picture directly into Corel Draw and then trace your crop line with the bezier tool and power-clipping the image inside that shape. You can then covert a copy to a bitmap and further edit that or go back and edit the original powerclipped version without losing anything.
