just upgraded to corel x7 and I keep getting this message every time I save manually.
*.cdr was modified by another user since you opened the file. To prevent losing your changes, please save the file with a new name (File>Save As).
I don't want to keep saving files with a different name every time I manually save. Any ideas how to fix? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
I've never had that problem myself, but somebody has given me a file that exhibits that problem.
I think it relates to something in the file. Do you have a small non-confidential file that could be uploaded for testing?
If the file is under 256Kb you can do that in the options tab when you reply. If it is bigger than 256Kb you will need to save it to a public server such as dropbox and paste the URL here instead.
Hello PPinc; I think that only happens with older CDR files that had a lot of color work done. What I do is add a dash - and a number to let me know which file I had adjusted last, then when complete I delete all the other files and rename the last one I did.

Here is a file it is exhibiting that behaviour in. The file was created in corel x7 so it is not a previous version issue. I thought maybe it was a powerclip issue or a transparency issue. I flattened all the transparent lens in this file and it is still doing it. See if it happens for you. The link is below.

I'm not seeing the same problem in that file. I've saved it several times, on two machines, each time just moving the background powerclip, without any problems.
Both machines are windows 7 64 bit, so it could be possible that the problem exists in a different version.
I didn't get the behavior you described. Seemed to work fine here.
