just upgraded to corel x7 and I keep getting this message every time I save manually.
*.cdr was modified by another user since you opened the file. To prevent losing your changes, please save the file with a new name (File>Save As).
I don't want to keep saving files with a different name every time I manually save. Any ideas how to fix? Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
That is strange because I have tried it on two machines here and it does it on both. Its very frustrating. I have tried saving to the server and just on the computers hard drive and it does the same thing saving to both. I am running out of ideas :(
I forgot to mention that both machines i tried were windows 7-64 bit machines.
A few things to check out:
1. Check your system clock. Make sure the time/date are correct. Check the timestamp on the CDR file and make sure it is not "in the future"
2. When you open the file in CorelDRAW, check for the file's timestamp again. Did it change? If so, maybe you have an anti-virus or similar application that opens the file in the background and affects its timestamp...
3. Where do you save your file? Is it a local hard drive or a network location somewhere? If on network, try saving locally.
It seems that saving works fine when saved locally but when saving to our network (with permissions on certain folders) it does not work. Any suggestions?
You do need to have full permission to the destination folder, not just read and write but also rename and delete.
