When trying to trace a bitmap, I can only trace using the "quick trace" option. When selecting another trace option from the drop down menu, Corel freezes before the power trace window opens up. I have tried a variety of bitmaps from several sources: my own creations, commercial clip art (jpeg), logos offered by Corel in tutorials on how to use power trace. They all cause the same problem. Quick trace is not always the best option and I would like to have a fully operational design program back!
I am a long time user of Corel and have successfully used trace many times. I don't know why it suddenly decided to stop working but it is very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Jules
I had the same issue, and following Cipher7z's example, tried unplugging the secondary monitor (didnt work) and then switched my main monitor to the laptop's screen instead of the large secondary, and boom. Powertrace came out of hiding. Seems like there is some sort of bug with the window appearing off screen and remaining unavailable when you have a certain screen setup. TL:DR switch your main monitor when using multiple screens
When Corel "freezes": Press the Windows key together with the left arrow key (or try other arrow keys).
The problem is that a new window appears but it is somewhere outside the visible space. With this shortcut, you can move the window so it becomes visible.
I know this answer is a little late^^, but I just had the same problem and found this solution, maybe it helps someone else.
