Hi,Regularly I have to resize many different designs to as close to 32inchs as possible I usually do this by multiplying the height by the width for example 5.656inches X 5.656inchs = 31.99inchesI have no macro experience but this seems like something that I should be able to make a macro for even though the designs will be different shapes so may be 7.5inches X 4.2585 = 31.938inches etcWhat would be the best way for me to go about this?Any help is very much appreciated!
So if you multiply h x w and you have a design that is 6 x 6 you get 36 not anywhere near 32. That's not the way to go. Maybe just a formula that sizes to 32 w by whatever ht proportionately? Could resize with a roundup/down formula too.
Scale the shape (or shaperange) proportionately by this scale factor:
(target area / original area)^0.5
That sort of simple scaling will of course not take into account outline widths, mitered corners, rounded corners, or a number of other things that might make the actual extents of the design larger than the "wireframe" dimensions!
Thanks Eskimo I'll give that a try!!
You may already be aware of this, but to be sure, I will state it here:
The Transformations docker can be a convenient way to scale a selection relative to its current size.
As a worked example:
Using the Transformations docker, scale the selection proportionally by 146.059%.
