Is it possible to constrain the movement of a selected object along a 45 degree line the way Illustrator CC can?
Look at "Dynamic Guides", and the docker that is used to configure them.
I don't know exactly how that type of constraint functions in Illustrator, so it may take some exploration to become comfortable with the way Dynamic Guides work in CorelDRAW. For example, a Dynamic guide in CorelDRAW doesn't just provide snapped movement of an object relative to itself, but also relative to snap points on other objects.
Custom angles, optional "tick snapping", and more - there is a bit going on there in one of CorelDRAW's less-well-known features.
