i just downloaded X7 trial and the option to 'insert QR code' is grayed out. anyone know why? thanks.

Strange you show under edit. It is under "object" in x7? Looks like x6 in the screen shot.
there is no OBJECT menu item at all if you can see that on my screen shot.
it is under edit in X7 but regardless of where it is, it is disabled and am trying to figure out why...

Lots of changes since x4. You now get a "standard membership" included with the suite. You must sign in to activate all the features. You can also purchase a "premium membership" for a fee which includes extra content, features and path to next upgrade. In any case you need to sign in, inside and via the program. This is new.
Content now flows through connect in a docker or stand alone. You need to read about this, it's to much stuff to type all day here. I suggest you go to corel.com and check it out. I have a premium membership and intend to stay with it. Lots of great stuff. The extra premium stock art and fonts alone more than pays for the membership, and then there are the new features as they develop. Cool
QR Codes are available to anyone who purchases the software, and signs in with a Premium or Standard Membership.
