The Font Navigator that comes with X7 shows as 17.1.0.572.
The X6 one shows a 16.2.0.998.
There is a behavior I am not sure is just my system, a bug, or other. In the X6 Font Navigator, you can select the drop down item and browse to a folder where your fonts are located. From there you can select the fonts you wish, right click and add to font catalog. From there you can drag them into a font group to quickly add them to that group.
In X7, when I select the drop down and go to a folder, the folders sub contents are not shown.
I could deal with just using X6, but it seems to have become unstable and is crashing when I add fonts. My hope was X7 would be more stable. But without the ability to browse to a folder, its pretty useless.
Does the font navigator that comes X7 and X6 share settings? Could that cause problems?
Can one with the font navigator from X7 verify this is happening so I can tell if it is just my system?
A picture, a thousand words:
David, it isn't just you, it's happening here also. No subfolders are available either on internal or USB drives.
Thanks for confirming that. I'll let Corel know about it, though I wouldn't expect a fix very soon.
David -- when I get a moment, I'll see if there is a way to continue using X6 fontnav alongside the rest of X7. I know its possible to install it without the rest of X6, but the problem is that you must have the X6.3 update and I'm not sure how you would apply that to fontnav on its own.

I would appreciate that as that seems to be what I must do for the time being. I don't mind having both X7 and X6 installed side by side if there is no conflict.
As far as I can see, X6 fontnav works OK with X7 -- it is even continuing to install missing fonts for X7.
If you want to install X6 fontnav without the rest of X6, untick all the other options (including those on the 2nd and 3rd tab of the installation screen). This will install the original (broken) X6.0 fontnav, so you will need to apply the update 1 and update 4 patches afterwards. After that, you should have X6.4 fontnav ready to run.
If you do not install the rest of X6 it will probably not be necessary to repair X7.
Ok, Reinstalled everything including updates. X7 font nav still won't browse, but I am back to X6's font nav which will browse. I'll continue along and wait for an update. Thanks for mentioning it to Corel and for the suggestions.
Glad to see you have it working using the fontnav from X6, and perhaps Corel will have a look at this and might include a fix in a future update.
