Don't know what I've done, but for some reason, the hintline at the bottom of the Corel workspace is no longer displaying the correct fill. When I click on an object, it will show the correct information for the pen outline but now only shows "none" for the fill, regardless of what the fill actually is.
See the attached. An object with a black fill is selected, but the fill icon at the bottom shows none. It shows that no matter what I click on.
I imagine this has something to do with the default settings for objects but I've tried a couple of things and it won't go back to being correct!
Please help, this feature is one of my favorite things about CorelDraw!
Thank you!
Hello Ectatic Design; I Think what you may have done is converted the text to a bitmap. If it was still a vector it should show you the fill.
George
Thanks, George, but that's not the issue. The text is not a bitmap and it doesn't matter what object I click on, it doesn't show the correct fill. If I select an object and then fill it with a color, it shows the right thing. But, when I click on a different object, it still shows the color that I last clicked on, not the fill color of the selected object. Very frustrating!!
Well Ecstatic Design; the Bitmap thing would have been less trouble to fix. But you May need to reset the program by holding down the F8 key while starting Corel, But that will also reset the work space, meaning you would lose any custom setting you have made. ( Having to rebuild them.)
I did the F8 reset and that appears to have fixed the issue. Thanks, George. Luckily, since my X7 is still new, I hadn't gotten around yet to making any modifications.
Have a great weekend!
I'm glad you got it fixed. I have not had to do the F8 reset with X7 yet. The first ting I do after installing a new ver. of Corel is set it up the way it works best for what I do. ( It does take some time, that's why most people hate to use the F8 reset.) If you are just getting started with X7, I would recommend installing Font Nav. that comes with CorelDraw Suite, by making a dir. on your fastest HD ( Something like Fonts.) and move all the fonts in Windows\Fonts dir. that other programs don't use to it, Start Font Nav. and tell it to go there to find the fonts. that will speed up your computer a little, by not having to go thru all the fonts.
Have Fun, George
