Hi there,
I would like to edit a photo and make it look like those curved tvs (see inserted image).
Apply 3D-effects and change the perspective is not exactly what i want.
I can do it on rectangles that I create directly in Corel (convert into curves) but not with the png or jpg that i import into Corel Draw.
Can somebody help me?
No way to shape raster images this way in CorelDRAW. You will need to use Photo-Paint to distort the image and then bring it into CD to finish off.
First I would export a TV screen shape from CD so you have a guide to use in PP. Use PNG so you can have a transparent background. Import the shape into PP and place it on a layer above the image. Make sure the image is an object layer, not the background. Now use a combination of Perspective and Distort (available when the Pick tool is active), and then Effects>3D Effects>Cylinder to curve it. You may need to go back forth between these tools to fine tune the shape.
If your final goal is to be able to place the image in a TV vector object you created in CD, then you can PowerClip the reshaped image into the TV screen shape. That way you'll have nice clean edges.

Hi Pia,
I use Photopaint for this kind of effect. First make a layer from the photo.
Use EFFECTS > DISTORT > SHEAR or EFFECTS > DISTORT > MESH WARP to get more variations.
Both require a lot of white space around the image. You get this white space by clicking on the background, then:
IMAGE > PAPER SIZE.
Work on the layer. You can follow up on the distortions by using the transform tools. There are many interesting effects in EFFECTS.Here's an example of the shear effect.Phil
