I exportet some graphics from one file to several files, and did as I always do. Exporting just the objects.
All of the EPS files are empty when opening them. The first Image under dosent work to export, the secound image wherer the text is senteretd to the page works.
Do I have to senter all the graphics now before I export it? I dident have to do this before.
Selecting pscript 2 or 3 dosent change anything. When exporting page, the object is centeret to the page when opening the eps file.
When exporting the page under with the text not centered, I get some of the graphics when importing the eps back.
<-- exporting this. gives this wehen importing -->
Good morning, Chris.
Acrobat/Reader have always had the ability to view large pages, it's just one has to Distill them using a particular .joboptions file. Basically what that process does is scale what the viewport of the display interface can see. the PDF format itself has no such artificial limitations (which can be measured in miles...). Which is why some other PDF viewers can view a PDF published directly that Acrobat/Reader cannot see but a "white" page. Like Foxit, etc. I think Adobe created that artificial limitation in Acrobat/Reader because their own software (like AI/ID, etc) cannot make a page above about the 212" size. It's a stupid limitation.
Please note that while I have created a bazillion PDFs this way for signage and sent them along, I myself don't print such work. I have never received back a complaint or "You idiot..." type of response--and I have sent off this file to other sign companies as well. But, do test. Media and ink are expensive.
I have attached the .joboptions file in a ZIP. If you do not know where to install/copy this file to, the easiest way to know on your system is to start Distiller, with whatever profile is started, use the File | Save As command and note the location. Mine are all stored in the Appdata, Roaming, Adobe, Adobe PDF, Settings folder.
Obviously you need to have Acrobat to have Distiller. But the process is to export the EPS (or print to PostScript). Then start Distiller, switch to the Oversized Pages profile. Then just drag the .eps or .ps file onto the Distiller window.
Take care, Mike
PS. Remember to test for yourself before an important job...

Hey Mike,
Thanks for taking the time & the download. If you drag the joboptions onto the distiller app it will install it for you.
The funny thing is that the size limitation that Adobe imposes on you through Acrobat is passed along to the RIP.I.E. If I create a pdf from CDR and Acrobat won't display it the RIP won't see it as well.
I couldn't believe it when your 12.5m Distilled PDF opened in Versaworks.
I'm going to mess about with it today, haven't Distilled a file in years.
All the best.
Cheers,Chris
Edit.............................
Works like a charm thank you again. 9m PDF printing as we speak :)
