I would like to add transparency across multiple, separate objects so that it looks like it is continuous and not multiple originals (if that makes sense). Is there a way to do that?
Thank you in advance!!!

Are you asking for some sort of gradient transparency, such as what's shown for the lower set of objects in this image?

I have three rectangles and used a bitmap interactive fill on one of them that I really like and want to have it appear in a gradient on the other two as well without going over the whole background. Does that make sense?
I'm not sure if this is what you are after, but you could Combine the three rectangles to make them into one curve, apply the desired fill to the shape, and then apply transparency to it:
Since that is one shape, it IS all governed by one transparency effect. Node editing can still be done to change the shapes and positions of the three subpaths of the curve.
