I can not seem to get a dot in my blend. I am using a PS printer
set the lpi to 45 and made the image a grayscale bit map and still no luck.
what am I missing

You need to 'print as separations' that is the trick.
Tried that also I will send a screen shot of my setting for you to look at tomorrow
I know its me I just don't know why
Why did you make the image a Grayscale bitmap after setting your lpi? If you did this from the print dialog box that's the reason why you don't get dots.
