Hello to the forum,
I've been trying to figure this soultion out but can't. I'm using Corel Photo Paint 11. When I Mask out or erase the background out of a photo, I them want to export it to the web with that same background masked out, or erase from the photo. However, when I try to save it, it says backgroung will be merged with photo. I don't want the background to merge. I need the background to be transparent, so that when I import it on the web site that I'm designing it will have no background, and still be transparent like it was in Corel Photo Paint. And I need the edited graphic to have no traces of a background around it.
Thanks A Bunch, Can Anyone help, with quick soultion?

Here is a easy to follow tutorial explaining how to create a transparent PNG image (which can be used on the web). It starts out in DRAW, but don't let that throw you. Hope that it helps!

Thanks for the info. I tried it, it worked 60%. Butthe graphic was somewhat raggedy around the edges, and the resolution changed and made the graphic look like it had been slightly painted over. I need something that I can do in Corel Photo Paint, and export or save Looking just like the mask did (Photo with No Background) and import into my web page design editor which only take Gif, & Jpeg imports.
Thanks Again.
Hello again,
In order to get better results exporting to GIF you have to try different values on the Export to image with palette dialog. Take a look at this image ( sorry I have PP in Spanish but I think can be illustrative ) I´ve checked Optimized palette, changed the number of colours and select the colour background with eyedropper( black in this case ) . Then accept this dialog and on the next and final dialog check MASKED AREA to maintain the transparent background with the shape of your original mask.
I recommend you to investigate about GIF and PNG formats to understand how you can get better export results. Is a technique that with some practice can be dominated.
Regards and good luck!
Hello Doncgarner,
In order to maintain the transparent background, you have to save/export your image to GIF or to PNG format ( the other web standart formats ).
JPEG format does not admit transparencies.
I hope this help you,
Greetings from Spain,
Thanks anna0Mine, I tried what you said, but it still didn't work like I wanted.
I gotta fine another solution.
Thanks a Bunch.
When you export to PNG, first select the object that you want to export, and then click Option and select the Selected only check box. This way the background won't merge with the image.
Hope this solves your problem.
Thanks or your help much appreciated and had been doing that - tried it again - still no luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Darn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
