Choose a minimalist design that is ‘less is more’ approach. Don’t stuff your design by adding too much text, images and animations. I worked for a web design Toronto and there I learned that most of their designs have white spaces, realistic images, simple design and catchy headlines.
Maybe it's me but I hate having to scroll in any direction from the home screen. Should be simple with links for further info.
