Grouping, Naming, & Layering Technique

Hi,

I have drawing with

  1. objects, name of object
  2. Curves (straight Lines)
  3. Page printed Titles
  4. Drawing of round item i.e. Storage Tanks, Processing plant, Gate (numbering)

Just want to know and find out if

  • how to do you do the naming convention, labeling in Object Manager to make things easier to locate.
  • Should it be that we group the item and item name together?
  • Would it make arranging copying, moving and redrawing easier?
  • Should I combine the curve group object into one object and then put a single name on the Object Manager then group those object and put another name i.e. a car symbol object combine into 1 entity, Group the car's and name it as car's in the Object Manager.

Thank for your prompt reply and help.

  • I don't think it is necessary. In Object Manager you can easily select whatever you want without grouping.

When you click on object in Object Manager, it will be displayed as selected object on page. If you press Ctrl (and hold), every other click in Object Manager will select that object on page too, so you will be able to select multiple objects regardless where they are, as long as they are on the same page.
