Hi,
I'm trying to weld 2 objects but 1 of them dissappears when I do that.
I made an ellipse and in that ellipse I wrote a name. I converted every letter to curves and welded them together. Now I let the letters touch the oval/ellipse and tried to weld everything together. The name inside the ellipse dissapears when I do that. Just for testing I let a letter stick outside of the ellipse and then when I weld that piece of the letter outside the ellipse stays visible, but everything inside the ellipse still disappears.
What am I doing wrong? I hope someone can tell me!

Your outside oval is a line convert it to an object Ctrl+Shift+Q then weld you objects.

Is this the "End Result" you are after? File Attached. I had to rebuild it so there may be a few discrepancies.
Hello Ricky; Try the Trim Tool instead of the Weld and see if that will get you where you want to be.

It will work like this:
So basically do the first step of converting everything and the last step of selecting separate parts
Not sue what you want to accomplish as I do not have X6 Installed yet, but if you may want to keep the text in the elipse, select both elipse and text and use combine.
