Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this.
If you import a bitmap into draw and then use the "node edit tool" to crop parts of the image, subsequent tracing causes unpredictable results... a random part of the image gets traced...
Hello Will; I only make one crop and sometimes I'll use PP and Cutout Lab before tracing. I don't have a problem with the way it works.
George
I have not checked it and neither I use trace that way, May be editing with nodes is not actually cropping but masking an image.
You would probably be able to work around that by selecting the cropped bitmap and doing bitmap > convert to bitmap. So now, it is a "simple" bitmap rather than a cropped one.
Another occasion where I find I often have to do that is if a bitmap comes in as a "bitmap object" rather than a bitmap. I'm not sure what the difference is (and I don't ever remember it being a problem in X4) but it seems to happen frequently in X6.

once you crop the image using node or shaping tool (eg. trim, intersect, back minus.... etc) you need to click
before you trace or edit bitmap.
