I use Windows 7 and Corel X5. Last night all was well with documents I was working on using Type 1 fonts (which I own). This morning I opened these documents and all the Type 1 fonts have disappeared. In one document I could at least view the copy in wireframe view once, but could not use the type at all. Tried converting to curves -- totally disappeared.
Type 1 fonts all appear to be fine in Word (meaning it shouldn't be a Windows problem), and in Illustrator CS4 (meaning not a type problem).
Naturally I have to get three jobs out today using Type 1 fonts.
Help!
And, thanks.
Sonia

Basically a windows update broke an important function in windows that CorelDRAW needs. Uninstalling the update should fix the problem. Microsoft has been contacted, hopefully they will issue a fix soon.

Hi Hendrik,
Do anyone know if this update effected X5 as well as X6?I dont think it will affect me today and tomorrow, as I use open type, non type 1 i hope, but I was just to make final adjustment to a book cover for a book publihser, using text of course :-)
Cheers,
Yes! It affected X3 and X6 too... I was up all night about this... Corel support helped me with this issue this morning.

Thanks,
What a mess a windows update can make. I saw the tiny icon showing an update was available, and whatever I may have done or not done, the update installed itself on closing the computer. And now woke up to this. Well woke up, its almost 8:00 in the evening where I am now, but anyway ;-)
Thanks Dave
