I've decided to compile a list of features and enhancements that i would like to see in an updated version, i would like to invite all users to add your suggestions as well, i would love to learn what others think of my suggestions and what suggestions you have to make CorelDRAW Graphics Suite the ultimate undisputed champ in every way. Below are ideas and enhancements i have come up with so far but i'll keep looking for more ideas and again welcome all your ideas as well.

1. That extra white pixel in exported bitmaps is there FOREVER. I've been using CorelDraw since version 8, and there is nothing to do but manually crop the bitmap, than resize in CPT... You can imagine the amount of extra work when designing elements for a web page. That's the single most annoying thing!
2. It would be nice to have perspective tool like that (grid with it and have standard perspectives as presets – Isometric etc. or enter degrees and rotation), and to be able to include bitmaps as well (Like AI).
3. Arranging dockers is a nightmare. They tend to slip to double-view (two in one).
4. Toolbars tend to move. Locking is a must!

This tool corrects the problem for X3's exports, I use it for 6 years now.
No cropping needed, no resizing. Those are strange choices you mention... since now your pixel dimensions would be different than original export. My tool does not change the file like that. It only fixes the edges, in all directions.
CorelDRAW X4 SP1or SP2 also solves problem. Go try it!

This locks toolbars in CorelDRAW X4.

I have Intel Core2Duo processor and 3 GB of RAM which I suppose I can expand futher now without problems? Any downsides with 64-bit? Namely, the drivers for some of my dongles and for my Canon scanner. Other than that, I do have those items on my Win 7 - 64 bit, running under the WinXP & Virtual Machine, on the Win 7-64 bit. This is awkward, but do-able. You may want to give that a thought, when you decide to upgrade permanently. Oh, yes, and you should stay away from the "Home" versions of Win 7 and get the Professional or the Ultimate (not the Home-Ultimate, either).

For any WIn 64 OS the drivers have to be certified by MS and be compliant with DRM (Digital Rights Management) or they just aren't allowed to load period.
$500M MS put into DRM and it means the PC is no longer an open platform. You can't even get the tool kit needed to write drivers for Win 64 without signed up to a NFDA and being considered worthy.

Does that mean I should forget about 64-bit? Do I miss anything with 32-bit? I suppose that there aren't very many 64-bit applications out there yet. But will they come soon?

[/quote] Hi Lars, I use Win 7 PRO 64 bit, and up until december 2009 I used Win XP Pro 32 bit.CorelDRAW and Photo-paint X5 runs great on 64 bit. Any 32 bit program can be runned on 64 bit, but although that is correct, many 32 bit programs dont work in 64 bit. Of all the 32 bit programs not running on 64 bit, that I have in my computer its only been 1 from microsoft and and another program. I have an old Canon Scanner that Canon havent made any driver for use on Windows 7. Neither 32 or 64 bit. There is a driver for it for a Vista 32 bit. and then XP of course. To use my scanner (canoscan 5000f) I musta have at least Windows 7 PRO. It doesnt matter if its 32 or 64 bit. It has to be Windows 7 PRO at least. No Win 7 Home version will work - because no "home" win 7 allows Virtual PC and consequently dont have Win XP Mode. So when I scann something I start my Photo-Paint X4 in Win 7 PRO using the XP Mode, and look in the USB tab in the Virtual PC frame work and allow the Canon Scanner that shows up there when cable is attached to my computer. And from then on I can use my scanner. Meaning, with Windows 7 you will have to look on your "maskinpark", hard ware at home/office, to see if each and every one is Windwos 7 compatible, otherwise you NEED a Win 7 PRO at least. Period. ;-) Webbhallen har en OEM för ca 1400:- som du kan installera, den är 64 bit. Och du måste ha en 64 bit dator får att kunna köra 64 bit OS. OEM versionen av PRO på webbhallen är endast 64 bit versionen. CDGSX5 isnt a 64 bit program per say, BUT it is optimized to work on a 64 bit OS computer.

Yes, in fact I already checked out the OEM-version at Webhallen :-)
