single line fonts generator?

hi, i´d like to convert  true type fonts to single line fonts.

i´ve found some info about dr.engrave program, but it´s a sort of old program, hard to download it.

any idea for it´s substitution? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cstfBo3Nc80

it´d be helpful not just for me :-)

thanks you guys !

  • You are aware that single line fonts will NOT be usable in CorelDRAW, right? Corel does supply several "engraving" fonts with CorelDRAW X4 that try to simulate single line fonts as close as possible. They do truly have a width, just one that is so small they appear to be single line fonts. I detail numerous aspects of working with fonts and much more in my book.
    • Hi, thanks for this information, i´m aware of it.

i wish to change another fonts into single line font.

i use them in coreldraw for signmaking work.

there must be some king of easy convertor for it.

      anyway, thanks and good luck!

      • OK, but you still don't seem to understand. Single line fonts can't be used
in CorelDRAW. So if you goal is to convert other fonts to single line for
use in CorelDRAW, you will be very frustrated since they won't work.

And to answer the other question, no, there is no "easy converter" for it.
        • ok, thanks for your advice.

          when i  find them, i´ll see :-)

For signmaking, I wonder if you simply want to output any font to a vinyl cutter? If so,

            1. right click on black in palette
            2. left-click on no-fill swatch.

Then, you may be able to output directly to your cutter from CorelDRAW's print engine, if your cutter has a Windows driver.

Otherwise, you may need to export as an EPS file from CorelDRAW, then bring EPS into the program that came with your cutter for output.

Yes, I'm aware of those. I've found that many users creating signs confuse them with preparing fonts for vinyl output. Just checking... :-)
