Did anyone ever find a fix for this?

Or, at least something to help? I'm wasting tons of time on this.

also, check your Color Styles, under Tools menu, and delete all unused

I just found something related to this and I thought I should share it here.

In some system configuration : the active printer can slow down VERY MUCH copy, cut and paste operation and new document creation.

You can try changing the default printer to something else. You can try uninstalling printers that you don't need anymore. Try setting the default printer to a software printer like a fax of pdf printer.
