Hi
I have seen this error twice so far using Draw X5 on WinXP. The fact that it's a DDE Server error seems odd... I thought that would only come into play when moving (like copy/paste) stuff from one app to another.
The only thing I can think of when this happened is I may have pasted a bitmap from PP into Draw to use as a guide... but the error is when closing Draw just like you said.
If an F8 Factory reset does not work, then put the DVD in the drive and do a Repair. Hopefully that should clear up the memory error. (It may be that you have a corrupt setting in your workspace definition file.)

Colin,
I have the exact same error message on closing as well, and I also have a problem on occasion when I'm working in Coreldraw it will just close unexpectedly.
I have a Dell computer with Windows xp and plenty of memory and all the updates.
If you find a solution please let me know.
Thanks Sheryl
Hi Sheryl
After a remission from this problem, for about three weeks when I thought things had settled down, I'm getting the error message again - probably every other closedown. And the sudden closedowns have started again - with no CARM or backup.
I thought I had narrowed the problem down to large exports - X5 shut down everytime - and had been saving to X4 and exporting from there. Now X5 blinks out on the most mundane of tasks!
Like many others I'm hoping sp1 comes out sooner than later. X5 is undoubtably the most unstable of all versions and I'm working with X4 almost exclusively again. I'm also on XP with lots of memory etc. and tried F8 and Repair numerous times.
I've wondered for a while whether X5 was really intended for XP. There's nothing like this with X4 or X3 or any other software.
If sp1 doesn't address these and other faults, I think I'll ask for my money back. I've never had so much grief, with wasted time and lost work, than with this programme. Hope the prople who count are reading these threads.
All the best, Colin
