PDF compression settings

I have an 8-page document. Each page has one large photo and a text heading. Is there a way to export to pdf so that some of the pages compress their images while other pages do not? Three of the photos are low res (72 dpi) and do not look good with compression.

If not, I thought I might resample them up from within CorelDraw so they are comparable to the res of the photos on the other pages (~200dpi) and compress to around 85% jpg.

As far as I know Janet if you set you bitmap downsampling to a minimum number that you want, anything under that resolution will stay as it is.

In the screen cap anything over 200PPI will be reduced to 200 leaving anything under 200 untouched.

Also LZW or ZIP compression are lossless compression so using those compression types you will not lose any quality.
Where JPG compression will throw away quality.

Thanks for your input Chris. I believe that using LZW compression on 16-bit TIFFs takes longer and creates a file that’s actually larger than an uncompressed file! With zip, I was afraid that it might make the file more difficult to get read on non-savvy clients' computers.

The reason I was looking for something other than this is because I didn't want any downsampling of the higher res pics. But since this is mainly for client viewing on the screen, perhaps 200 is adequate (although clients do tend to like to print out).

Since LZW compression on 16-bit TIFFs creates a LARGER file, do you have experience regarding how much a photo is degraded by changing it to 8-bit as compared to the degradation of jpg?
