Publish to PDF -- save location

Didn't CorelDraw used to automatically save a pdf to the same location as the source CDR file?
I seem to remember that from previous versions, at lest back in v.12.

Could anyone explain the reasoning for this "feature"?
Seems entirely counterproductive.

It may have done, but that would have been a long time ago. I've used versions since 2, but I can't remember a lot of specifics beyond about X4.

The current behaviour is for the default to be whatever folder you last used for that particular file type -- so your pdfs and pngs will each have a recent folder which will be the default when next saving a file of that type.

That works for many people, who have a reserved folder specifically for CDR files and don't want assorted export files clogging up the folder. It also means they do not have to keep finding their chosen pdf folder yet again just because they saved a png somewhere since they last saved a PDF file. But obviously, not for everybody.

No, this is a very useful feature but it doesn't exist. Also on Export dialog (for JPG, TIF, etc) there's not such as option.

It's possible to add this feature? I believe that yes, it's possible, the MultiPage Export macro from macromonster.com have this option so I suppose is not so difficult to add this option, Usually CorelDRAW use the operating system interface for the Export and Save dialogs, but I believe it's possible to add this option for the next version

Also to add that in windows 7 the file picker includes a favourites section (right click on it to add a folder as a favourite) and a recent places selector which may already include the folder you want to save to.

As far as I'm aware, this is as close as you can currently get without either writing or installing a macro.
