This is my first time on this forum. Im posting this message. As I have went through a few suggested fixes. When I have the CDX6 H&S running. And I go to FILE/OPEN I can't preview the .cdr files at all and even there is no preview in window explorer. The issues started when I tried using CDX8 and uninstalled it and went back to x6. This then brought about a issue the no preview. I have tried the shell extension removal for. The version for CD shell ext...is ver 18. It wont uninstall no matter I use. I have re-installed CDX6 H&S and nothing works. If the shell can't be removed what more can I do. To get the preview working.
If more images and more information are needed I will post.

Interesting, try this, make sure you run all Windows and manufacture updates and reboot Windows. Then shut down Windows and unplug the system for 1 minute, plug the system back in and boot Windows, allowing the system to completely finish booting.
Then go to the control panel and uninstall the Corel Windows Shell. Then put the X6 disk in and do a repair install and install the X6 Windows shell from the X6 disk, then reboot Windows.
David I done everything you said in the post. Its still there even after todays attempt to remove it. I don't know if windows is meant to show the uninstall process but it shows nothing. Its still in the list and the picture shows it.
Also the image below, I've added shows the extension is correct.
So don't know what else to do. I don't know if there is a separate uninstall program than get rid of it. Or way through the windows registry to get rid of it. In windows explorer and in FILE./OPEN it still doesn't preview the image for file.
If you're unable to uninstall a non-Windows program and you're an administrator then there's clearly something wrong with your Windows installation.
