Ridiculously slow redraws

Ok. That's terrible. Does Corel corp know that tons of people who work in the screen printing industry use CorelDraw, and that those people work mainly, if not exclusively, with spot/Pantone color? And of course you know that Normal View is awful. Enhanced View is really the only acceptable view, especially when working with vector graphics. But the only solution for me is to work in Normal View? Do you know if Corel plans on fixing this problem (which they've known about for a long time), or if they're just going to continue to give the finger to everyone who creates graphics for screen printing?

All I can say is that this problem was already reported and I hope it will be fixed soon. It's not only important for screen printing, also traditional printing use Spot and Pantone colors, and the performance is just unacceptable since it make impossible to use it.

It's not slow on Normal view. It's as fast on Normal as all previous versions are/were with Enhanced. (Again, I feel I can't emphasize enough how terrible "normal" is. Why is that even an option still? Vector graphics that are non-anti-aliased bitmap looking things that appear to have been created in Windows Paint.) I do flip over to Normal a lot, once the design becomes intolerable to work with. Then it's just intolerable to look at, which I guess is better... And the print dialogue section is a whole new nightmare of waiting a full minute for the preview image to appear, and 10-30 seconds for it to reappear after each little adjustment to the centering marks, often crashing altogether, etc. - but I guess that's something for a different discussion.

It happens with all designs, whether I've got 2 Pantone colors in there or 20. Normally it's between 3 and 6, though, due to the fairly simple style of screen printing we do.

I am happy, however, to have it confirmed here that it is a CorelDraw problem, and not something with my computer. Support has already confirmed that nothing seems to be wrong with my computer, but they never once acknowledged that X7's handling of Pantone colors is a known problem that they need to solve. That would've saved me a little hopeless grief.

I did read in a thread with a similar question where someone suggested ditching all "previous version" Pantone colors and just working with X7's "plus" palettes. So I've decided to trash the custom palette I've built up over the past 13 years and start building one from scratch for the creation of new graphics. It's going to be an uncalled for pain, but hopefully this will help. The little time I spent yesterday avoiding my custom palette in favor of Plus seemed to go well, but that may have just been some wishful perception on my part. We'll see.
