I have a black 6 pt box and a red 4 pt line. I want the red line to align with the top edge of the box (showing 2 points of black underneath). When I use "align top," the red line is centered on the top line of the box (showing 1 pt of black above and 1 pt below). Must be a simple way to do this. Appreciate any help.
Here's one approach that you might try:
1. For the box, use "inside outline" in the outline properties.
2. With "snap to objects" active, snap one end of the line to a corner node of the box.
3. Move the line downward by half of the pen width. In the transformations docker, from the "position" tab, set it to use relative position. For the change in y position, type "-2pt" into the entry box, then click "Apply".
Try this, select your box and line and then open the Align & Distribute Docker.
Now execute the red outline steps in the order marked.
That should fix your problem.
Good Luck!
