CorelCAD Convert to CorelDRAW

I am using CorelCAD 2013.5 and CorelDRAW x7. In CorelCAD I have a 2D drawing that I have removed the line weight and shaded Black. I then use the Export to CorelDRAW and select all . CorelCAD reports a successful export. I then open the cdr file in CorelDRAW and I noticed that the straight lines are normal but any curve or circle is formed of jagged blocks that remind me of bit mapping. So I increased the size of the graphic x100 in CorelCAD and re-exported to CorelDRAW. Same problem with the curved graphics showing as 'bit maps'. Tried again in CorelCAD this times at x10,000. Same 'bit map' result in CorelDRAW.

My original graphic in CorelCAD was 297 mm wide. In CorelCAD the x100 and x10,000 show as 29700 mm and 2970000 mm as expected. The graphics when measured in CorelDRAW are original = 274 mm,  x100 = 219 mm and x10,000 = 162 mm. Something is wrong.

Question
Is there a problem in the CorelCAD to CorelDRAW Export command or am I missing a program setting?

Cheers,
George

  • Go 'save as' DXF or DWG to a folder and it should open,(just did them in both formats) draw does have a limit of about 20 meters where cad is infinite.(great if your workmate goes away - jump on his comp and write "I have a small ***" in letters 5 ks high then go back to his drawings - great fun.
My suggestion is to scale your graphic down in cad - "SCALE ENTER 0.1 ENTER . I just made a polyline with curves and saved it to a folder as DWG it opened as a vector in draw. Sometimes 'saving as' seems to work better than exporting (which is like copy/pasting or snipping, just taking a screen shot)
