I've been using Draw for over two decades. I got into CNC a few years ago and have been using Autodesk fusion 360. Recently I realized Corel has CAD. Does it have CAM capabilities?
Unlike graphic applications CAD has no uniform format. Your device accepts autodesk can mean nothing to other CAD applications.
Not that I am aware of, the manufacturing companies I have consulted will uses CorelCAD then import them in the machine makers software like Biesseworks or WoodWOP to generate the necessary g-code to operate said machines.
The issue I see that with my vendors imported CAD files usually have to have additional work done regardless of the quality of the file content. With my vendors it ranges from a touch here and there to a rebuild.
Now the bite from a Draw user perspective is that what you do to make your file perfect for vendor A may be completely different for vendor B.
I find that close communication with the vendor can help. I have one vendor that most shapes have to have work done no matter what I do in Draw, but fonts set to curves I can work to be 99.9% functional.
CAD export and import is nothing like PDF or postscript export and import into graphics applications. I can create a file, export it and send it anywhere in the world and it will work without any additional work required.
CAD seems to only work if you send from an application to the same application and the same version of that application the file was created in.
What I'm asking is if I can make something in Corel Cad and then create gcode (CAM) in it as well. Just like I can in Fusion 360.
That's what I want. Like in fusion 360. I want to make and create within CorelCad. Like how I can in fusion 360.
