If not - what is the best way to replicate that tool?
I attempted myself but I cannot tell what it's doing exactly to replicate it in VBA. It sort of looks like its trimming & intersecting but not really. It's kind of hard to decipher. In any event I need a tool similar... Is there a post for this by chance or anyone who can help?
IF there isnt. Is there a post or someone who can help with a node function similar to inkscapes / extension/ add node function? It like evens out all the nodes along a curve with a value (and doesnt alter the shape). If not that's cool. The divide one im looking for as of now.
Any help would be appreciated.
What - exactly - are you trying to do?
It's hard to explain. It's trouble shooting - really.
Long story short - I'm not sure yet... I am troubleshooting some errors I am encountering when converting dfx files to cnc files. I get index out of range errors and offset errors. I think I've resolved the index out of range error. The offset error / Invalid Data errors are what I'm trying to resolve.
So, Corel is the main program we use. Drawing / Clean up. But the the cnc converter does not like corel's dfx files much. I mean they go through but when they don't there is no real indication why to fix it! Even if the geometry is clean! So our fix is Illustrator. The "divide" tool is doing something to the geometry that then the cnc converter will take. It's odd and I cannot figure out what it's doing different???? It's so frustrating. That is the only time i need illustrator!
Note: Im having issues w/Illustrator dfx and corel's dfx but one balances the other when something isnt working. BUT i spend more time trouble shooting and less time working.
Then Inkscape's dfx files are different but the cnc converter seems to be less angry when i use those (but it requires clean up in the cnc converter) which is fine. I guess im just trying to centralize and hoping to solve at least one issue! A small victory would be nice!
But the biggest thing is... These errors dont help be pin point what needs to be fixed. So im running tons of tests blindly!
