We have 'printers' that require the page be in the upper left corner. We make an Imposition layout that does that, but can't figure out how to make that the default.
You can make a plugin that makes these settings when creating a new document
A *plug in* could control the print engine? Any suggestion as to how?
Under "print" screen is Print Style".
You can set your layout and save as "CorelDRAW Defaults".
I second the suggestion from elalem. Print Styles can be very useful.
Keep in mind that there are a number of options for what settings to include in a Print Style, and some of those can't be accessed without expanding some of the choices in the "Settings to include" part of the dialog for saving a Print Style.
For example, "Current printer" is not checked by default (if I recall correctly). I often want a Print Style to use a specific printer.
For Adobe Acrobat, I have a number of instances of that printer, each one specifying the page size and Acrobat job options that I want. So, when I load my CorelDRAW print style named, "poster, 24 x 48, portrait", that Print Style can be specifying a specific instance of the PDF printer that I have set up for a 24 x 48 page, in portrait orientation, with a particular set of job options.
Of course, that CorelDRAW Print Style is ALSO specifying a bunch of print settings in CorelDRAW.
