Has anyone experienced "lag" with CorelDRAW 2018 ?My computer has AMD 3.5Ghz 8 core 16G ram...AMD Radeon 5900 video card....
Finally solved this issue... installed 32 bit version, Runs like a dream !!!
How did you manage that? I tried to do a reinstall and it doesn't give me the option of doing 32-bit, it automatically does the 64-bit. Help!
Hello,
I went to the corel site and downloaded the trial, when it opened to install it gave me the option of 32 or 64, I had installed the 64 bit three times before deciding to try the 32 bit, which works a heck of a lot faster. BTW I made sure the 64bit was completely removed from my system first. Hope this helps
There's a new Windows update today anyone who runs AMD devices and installs it please keep us posted on performance
I get this redraw lag on WIndows 7 too with my AMD desktop (has an integrated ATI graphics chipset). Funny enough on my AMD laptop running Windows 7 I don't have this delay at all. The desktop is way more powerful than the laptop but it's the desktop that suffers...
The desktop is almost unusable because objects disappear off screen visually. But they're really still there however you can't see them until you zoom out or pan around. Then they appear again briefly. Because of the objects disappearing visually, I'm forced to do all work on the laptop.
This is why I don't upgrade much. Why mess with something that is working well? It's too bad too because Coreldraw 2018 is the best functionality packed version ever in my opinion...been using it since version 4 too and it's taken years to get a version that was worth the update cost...except now that it has visual lagging problems it makes using it almost impossible.
If this ever gets fixed I'll be in love with Coreldraw again. But this last year I've been spending a lot of time learning Illustrator CC 2018 because with their new context sensitive interface, I can actually USE their software. I hated Illustrator in CS or early CC versions. But now in 2018, it's awesome. Anyhow, I'm on the verge of switching to it full-time because I can't be bothered to deal with these show stopping bugs. It's too bad too as I love Coreldraw.
Update: Reproducible Graphics Trial With Workaround:
OK, I seem to have a workaround fix for my disappearing graphics on the page inside Coreldraw 2018. I think this is still a bug and needs others to test and see if they get the same thing happening or not.
1) Draw some graphics on your page (3 or 4 squares, circles whatever you wish...color each one a pretty color)2) Use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out a few times...all seems fine and dandy...speedy!3) If your mouse has a tilt scroll wheel, tilt it left and to the right a few times to pan around.4) Now try zooming in and out again using your scroll wheel...hey, where's my artwork gone? It's pulled a Houdini. It doesn't matter if you view the page in Wireframe or Enhanced mode...your graphics are gone! Or are they?5) Now for a workaround fix, click on the small magnifying glass icon with a crosshairs in it at the point where the two scroll bars (horizontal and vertical) on the Coreldraw GUI meet and pan around a bit using the mini-navigator window. Basically you just need to click on this icon.6) Now try zooming in and out using the mouse wheel again...Presto! Your artwork is back...
So is it, the graphics drivers doing this or is it Coreldraw 2018? Anyhow this is happening on both my desktop and laptop now. At least I can use the desktop again! Both AMD machines, both have different combo CPU/GPU's. Both run different versions of AMD drivers.
Anyhow, don't use your tilt scroll wheel button to pan around but if you do, there's a workaround that should get you going again.
